Mission and Vision
The Institute of Doctors of Philosophy and Professors is a not-for-profit professional association working across academic, public, and private sectors to advance research, protect doctoral integrity, and drive economic growth.
Mission
Contributing to economic development through value addition and effective utilization of mixed high-level expertise, competences, wisdom and knowledge as learned minds. We ensure that holders of such professional qualifications are recognized, set apart and fully utilized for economic development.
Vision
IDPP's vision is to serve as a reservoir of advanced knowledge, skills, talents and intellectual capital capable of providing independent, credible and evidence-based advice on matters of national, regional and global importance.
Achieving this is not simply the responsibility of academic institutions but of all government sectors, private entities, and development partners that contribute to national development. Therefore, IDPP stimulates and supports integrated approaches addressing economic development, science, technology, health, environment, and social policy.
We aim to become a force, valuable Think Tank, and a Voice Organization for the academic community β specifically those holding Doctorate of Philosophy Degrees and Professorial status at universities and in the world of work.
The Institute promotes ethical conduct, academic honesty, quality assurance, and professional standards to safeguard the credibility and dignity of advanced qualifications across all discipline sectors.
We work towards:
- Establishing the Institute as a national and international Think Tank to provide independent policy advice and strategic direction.
- Advocating for inclusion in conditions of service and entry-point grade considerations for Doctorate and earned Masterβs degree holders in corporate and public entities.
- Collaborating with universities and statutory authorities like ZAQA to ensure academic qualifications are competently earned and validated.
- Providing mentorship, coaching, and capacity building for doctoral candidates, emerging researchers, and senior professionals.
- Promoting multidisciplinary research, policy briefs, and evidence-based solutions for national and regional challenges.
